Advantech’s ARK-1310, a cost-effective entry-level Box IPC

Advantech, the leading global ePlatform services provider, is pleased to announce the ARK-1310 Embedded Box IPC—a cost-effective, entry-level system platform. All electronics are sealed in a compact, fanless, aluminum case that can be easily embedded in a larger housing or mounted as a separate, stand-alone platform. Its small but tough footprint makes it well-suited to harsh environments and also for automation control applications.

The ARK-1310 offers 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x LAN ports, and 4 x COM ports, all powered by an Advantech EVA-X4150 processor, and packed into a small, rugged unit. All four COM ports support RS232/422/485 with auto-flow control. This compact embedded computer is equipped with a solid state onboard CF card up to 8 GB, so it easily passes 50 and 5 Grms shock and vibration tests. For supply power, it supports a wide range of input voltages, from 9 VDC to 24 VDC.

The ARK-1300 can serve standalone, wall-mounted, DIN-rail or VESA mounted, and the rugged cast aluminum case not only provides great protection from EMI, shock/vibration, heat and cold, but also provides passive cooling for quiet, fanless operation. Reduced power consumption makes this a cool running IPC.

Compact Size

In accord with the rest of the Advantech ARK-1300 series, the ARK-1310 is only 189 x 130.6 mm, and 41 mm high (7.44″ x 5.14″ x 1.61″), which puts its height within 1U limits. It is at home in space-limited environments such as kiosks or IO control systems.

Rich IOs

There are 4 x RS-232/422/485 ports with auto-flow control, 2 x USBs, 2 x LANs and 8-bit, programmable digital IO. And with the wide range of acceptable input voltages, it is quite suitable for general embedded control applications.

Cost Efficient

ARK-1310 has a single board architecture, with a low power embedded Advantech EVA-X4150 SOC. Low initial cost, low power requirements, reduced operating cost, and long service life make this model a low-cost leader.

The ARK-1310 is ideal for kiosks, gateway controllers, product line automation, IO control systems, data collection and transition, and general automation controllers–ideal anywhere a basic, rock solid, fanless embedded system is required.

Note: ARK-1310 operates with Windows CE 5.0, Linux, or DOS, and without hard drive. Not suitable for XP or XPe.
