NEXCOM is introducing a RISC-based media player to extend its Digital Signage product line. The PDS 1100, a palm-size digital signage appliance, is user-friendly for quickly creating media layout and updating content for digital signage applications. The PDS 1100 is built with VGA, composite A/V, S-Video (optional), COM, USB, 10/100 Ethernet and CF storage. It supports multi-zone display with multi-media formats including video, flash, animated pictures, RSS news feed and message tickers. Advanced and customized scheduling options are available with built-in software, PowerDigiS.
The PDS 1100 is driven by RISC-based VIA VT8430XA process with DSP. PDS1100, the seamless compact box, generates sufficient power to support multi-zone partitioning for picture, video, scrolling text and flash. Multimedia presentations can be remotely loaded onto the PDS1100 player via LAN or wireless connection. The central management console communicates with one or more media players to update scheduling and manage data. Users don’t need to log on each media player: the central management console plays a key role in media player system with content design, updating and monitoring. Users will be amazed at how easy it is to create layout, upload content and schedule playback lists. With fan-less design, the PDS 1100 greatly boosts reliability and reduces maintenance cost by eliminates concerns about dust accumulation. The PDS 1100 is built with industrial-grade quality but is positioned at affordable commercial price. Its compact size and high performance of image presentation are great advantages in retail marketing, hospitality venues, theaters, churches, schools, sport venues and various real-time content presentations.
